Welcome to Next-Generation Wealth, a newsletter that gives the next generation of entrepreneurs and investors a voice.

How do successful entrepreneurs and heirs find purpose in wealth? What do they invest in and why? How can the next generation of family business owners reconcile innovation with tradition? Does the next generation see wealth as an instrument of change or as a golden cage? These topics are at the core of what I want to write about in this newsletter.

For our first book about family governance, my co-author and I interviewed more than 30 wealthy families in Switzerland with more than CHF 1 billion in assets. We did this behind closed doors and spoke to the generation that is in charge.

This newsletter, however, is aimed at the next generation and is an open form of research. My goal is to talk to people from different countries, no matter if they’re young tech entrepreneurs that are creating wealth or heirs to a family business that has been around for 5 generations. The topics covered should be relevant for everyone interested in questions of purpose, succession, and impact.
